Burning outside

It was so very hot that most of my day had to be spent inside. I did get some cookbooks to check out some new recipes. NOTE to those who want to PUBLISH a cookbook--please make them with photos of the food or even better photos of the steps. It really does not help much to have tons of cookbooks at my fingers but, not really be able to follow them by just reading --I have to see how to do it. Anyway, I found a few to look through.

I did okay eating today but, we did go to Wendy's for lunch. I had a small burger and baked potatoe (yes I had the horrible sour cream-lol)

Since it was too hot to go out and walk during the day I waited until the sun went down and then my husband and I went out for a walk. I loved how the street lamps on the route we took seemed to light the trees up green. It was a very peaceful walk.

After getting a little hot walking we came home to a nice cool treat of cantalope. Yum!

What did you do today?

  1. I agree about cookbooks needing photos! It really helps me to see things, too.

Have you tried the fresh fruit at Wendy's? They have these fruit cups that have real fresh fruit in them. Not like the apples in bags at McDonalds or even the fruit cups you buy at the grocery store that have been sitting in syrup forever. No, it's real, fresh cut fruit! I couldn't even taste any "extras" on it. It's really delicious and I think it's a great option instead of fries. =) And the fruit even changes depending on what is in season that time of year!

Today I worked on drawing a few characters for Dorky Dino. Then my fiance and I went to see a movie with his parents. We watched Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. After that we went and watched fireworks in the park! Was a good day overall. =)

  2. I usually get salad or potatoe as the side but, now that I know they have fruit I will get that next time. Thanks for the tip.
How was the movie--my son wants to see that one but I did not know if it would be any good.
We worked at the fireworks tent and then went to my moms and cooked and ate and played kickball frisbee--fun and then played cone volleyball without the net--so funny. watched alot of fun stuff on tv--it was a blast.
Glad you had a great holiday also.

  3. The salads are good, too! Yeah when they said "fruit cup" I thought it was just going to be like the kind you get at the store, but it was so much better!

We all liked the movie. It was pretty crazy. haha.

    Sounds like a great day!
